HEADLOOSE
When the local goose egg Harry loses his head in a freak accident, his influence ripples throughout the small community, and launches him into a whirlwind of consequences.
Like many other projects of mine, HEADLOOSE was created under the time constraint of a single week to script, animate and edit the entire film. This, I find, has the effect of transporting me into a zone of fiery creative output. With such little time, you really must get yourself right to the core of your story, no room for fluff, especially considering the time-consuming art of animation.
The contest this film was initially developed for offered the theme of Kairos as the springboard off which entries were based. An Ancient Greek word defined as "a propitious moment for decision or action", it's a concept ripe for cinematic exploration. Filmmaking, and storytelling in general, is all about moments, choices, decisions, consequences. HEADLOOSE is all about those chemical reactions between action and consequence, and how the strangest little drop on the water can ripple outwards into great fortune, or great disaster.
